Get to Know Us
Movin' Minds was born out of a shared passion for education and a deep understanding of the challenges parents and educators face today. As technology becomes increasingly prevalent in children's lives, screen time often dominates their free time. The three founders, teachers with a combined experience of over 30 years and parents themselves, recognised the need for a solution that would bring balance back into children's daily routines. They set out to create a company that would offer children a chance to learn and play in an engaging, educational, and, most importantly, fun way.
Our Story
The journey of Movin' Minds began in classrooms, where the founders spent years observing how children learn best. They found that activities encouraging direct participation, exploration, and creative problem solving were the most effective learning methods. Traditional learning through textbooks often became monotonous, causing children to lose interest in the subject. The founders, who were experienced educators, noticed a common theme: when learning was interactive and playful, children became more engaged, retained information better, and developed a deeper love for the subject. They also observed that as technology advanced and became more accessible, more and more children were spending excessive time on screens, often at the expense of valuable learning experiences through personal interactions.
As parents, the founders faced the same challenges at home. They knew that while screens could be helpful, relying on them was the easy way out. They were inspired by Roald Dahl's quote, "It rots the sense in the head! It kills imagination dead! It clogs and clutters up the mind! It makes a child so dull and blind He can no longer understand A fantasy, a fairyland!"
They recognized the urgent need to provide alternatives that would foster creativity, physical movement, and critical thinking. So, they combined their expertise as educators with their insights as parents to create "Movin' Minds"—a company that would offer children meaningful, screen-free ways to learn, play, and grow.
